This evenings passage will be Exodus 32
We see a people of God, that is Israel, that have been allowed to “break loose” as a result of the idol worship of the golden calf, which Aaron built, as Moses was on the mountain speaking with God.
We also primarily look at the Radical obedience that was prescribed by God for the “pruning of the unfaithful” by the Levites as a result of the idol worship.
God continues to show His faithfulness to His people and we see Moses, as an image of Christ, standing in the middle for the people. He of course is not able to carry the burden of sin for the people, only Christ is able to carry our sin, but we see an image of Christ to come in the actions of Moses toward God in speaking for the people of Israel.
